Day 26 of the impeachment trial seemed to be a hot venture between Senator-Judge Miriam Defensor Santiago and prosecution lawyer Atty. Vitaliano Aguirre.
During Santiago's speech, the irate lawyer was seen in the camera covering his ears. Senator Jinggoy Estrada, who said Aguirre's act was a "disrespect", asked him why he was covering his ears during Santiago's tirade. Aguirre responded: "Nasasaktan na ang tenga ko."
Senator Santiago cited the private prosecutor in contempt for disrespect of the impeachment court. Atty. Aguirre has left the session hall and refused to make any further comments.
Atty. Aguirre also walked out in 2000 when guilty verdict was handed down in Vizconde Massacre, where he was one of the defense lawyers of Hubert Webb.
