Report: 2 killed in Camiguin Island plane crash

At least two people were reported killed after a private plane crashed in Mambajao town in Camiguin Island in southern Philippines Sunday morning.

A four-seater Cessna plane (RPC-C209) crashed at Baylaw village in Mambajao town at 8:15 a.m., according to a report from Radyo Mo Nationwide (RMN).

Sketchy initial reports showed five passengers were on the plane, including at least one child.

The pilot was initially identified as Christian Ceasar Febricos, who was declared dead on arrival at the nearest hospital.

A second fatality was not immediately identified while the other passengers were injured and rushed to the Camiguin General Hospital.

An initial investigation showed the plane was flying from Mactan in Cebu when it crashed one kilometer from the Camiguin airport.

The RMN report said investigators are looking into the possibility the pilot had difficulty maneuvering the plane.
