22 soldiers wounded in Basilan bomb blast

22 soldiers were wounded after an improvised bomb exploded in Sumisip town in Basilan on Tuesday.




Military said two Army platoons under a Captain Magundayao and a Lieutenant Guerrero were patrolling the Abong-Abong peak at around 8:30 a.m. when the blast occurred. Five from the troops were critically wounded, reports said.


On Thursday, Abu Sayyaf bandits slain 3 militiamen in the same town. The Al-Qaeda linked group ambushed a truck carrying the police aides at a plantation where one of the bandits was also killed in the clash.
