Veteran-laden Barako Bull stunned defending champ Talk 'N Text by hacking out Game One victory, 84-77 in the best-of-five series of the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Danny Seigle led the rally, amassing 19 points in the fourth quarter, proving he's still on the loop. Big Man Dorian Peña held his own against Talk 'N Text import Donnell Harvey, while two-time MVP Willie Miller, Wynne Arboleda and Ronald Tubid hit the baskets in the payoff period, backing up import Gabe Freeman's delivery.
Tuesday's game at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City counted to 58-all in the fourth quarter, but Seigle outshined heading the Barako to a 79-69 advantage with four minutes and 47 seconds left.
Tropang Texters captain Jimmy Alapag came scoreless in 21 minutes, missing all attempts to basket, and giving the team its lowest scoring output this season. Jayson Castro and Larry Fonacier though finished in double figures, with 27 and 14 points, respectively.
