There will be no extension period for the April 16 deadline for filing of income tax returns (ITR), the Bureau of Internal Revenue said.
In an interview with radio dzMM Sunday, Commissioner Kim Henares that failure to file ITRs on Monday will be fined with interest and surcharges.
"Tomorrow is the deadline. Wala hong extension 'yun. 'Pag na-late kayo, meron pong mga penalites imposed," Henares said.
"If you're already in line, nasa BIR na kayo ng alas-singko (ng hapon), tatapusin po natin 'yan." BIR offices open at 7 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.
Henares also appealed to taxpayers to be patient on waiting in line, since a deluge of taxpayers are expected to beat Monday's deadline.
