'No more trades for Tigers' -- Asuncion

The Powerade Tigers will be standing pat with their lineup, as post-trade effect of star rookie Marcio Lassiter.

Ronnie Asuncion, Powerade's team executive, in a text message to InterAKTV said there will be "no more trades" following Lassiter and veteran guard Celino Cruz' deal to the Petron Blaze Boosters. The two was dealt in exchange of Petron's center Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Rey Guevarra and Lordy Tugade.

Tigers coach Bo Perasol earlier said he would prefer that Lassiter stay with the team, but the deal just bade farewell to the Lassiter-JVee Casio tandem, which put the team in spotlight after years of futility.

Asuncion did not give a direct answer on whether the team intended to stay in the PBA beyond the season.

"We're looking forward to competing in the third conference and we're starting practice on Monday with Rabeh, Lordy and Rey joining us. We intend to compete well in the third conference."

With the trade, Lassiter will be reunited with former Smart Gilas buddy Chris Lutz.
