2 shot dead by drunk army scout ranger

Two people died while two are in critical condition after a drunk army scout ranger shot them because of an unpaid debt in Barangay Kaypian, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

Vicente Sinugbuan, 35 and wife Morena, 32, died while their relatives Melania Cuevas and Jennifer Orario are critical at the hospital.

The suspect, identified as Army Corporal Maximo Pasking, was asking on Tuesday for due payment for his .45-caliber gun sold to a relative of the Sinugbuans named Robertson Ongbin, a Filipino-Chinese. Witnesses said Ongbin had handed the full payment to the couple but they only gave P10,000 to Pasking.

Pasking had left the couple's house and had drinks with friends. In the evening, the drunk Pasking went berserk and fatally wounded the couple, leaving them dead as they approached a nearby hospital. The couple's relatives Cuevas and Orario, who live in the same house with the couple in Palmera Homes Northridge Subdivision, were critically wounded and was still confined at the East Avenue Medical Center.

Police said the army scout ranger is facing charges of double murder and double frustrated murder.
