Former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada on Wednesday has moved to Manila, in preparation for his candidacy as the mayor of the country's capital in the 2013 polls.
Erap rode a jeep through the "Jeep Ni Erap Lipat Bahay" caravan from San Juan City to his new residence in Sta. Mesa. Beside him was incumbent Manila vice-mayor Isko Moreno, who has sworn to be part of the United Nationalist Alliance bloc of Erap and Vice President Jejomar Binay, and will be his possible running mate next year.
Supporters have welcomed the country's 75-year old former leader, as he moved to a 60-year old house in the center of a half-hectare lot in Manila's business district. He said he bought the house from the Legardas.
The law allows a mayoral candidate to run, only if he has become a resident of the city or municipality for at least a year.
