Yesterday, anti-Gaga groups marched to Roxas Boulevard to demand cancellation of her two concerts next week, saying her songs carried "demonic" undertones.
Dozens of anti-riot police stopped protesters, led by Biblemode Philippines, from marching to the concert venue with placards reading "Stop Lady Gaga concert" and "Don't support Lady Gaga".
Anti-Gaga groups called her songs "grossly blasphemous, immoral, lewd and carrying demonic and occultist undertones". They pleaded to watch over her concert and will file a case if ever they hear songs that are "blasphemous" or against the Catholic Church.
Lady Gaga arrived last night for her "Born This Way Ball Tour" two-night concert. After Manila, the tour heads to Bangkok and Singapore. She was due to play in Jakarta in Indonesia (where her controversial act was banned), before flying south to New Zealand and Australia.
