The film was also selected to be part of the Directors' Fortnight at the 64th Cannes International Film Festival. De Rossi flew to France last May for the movie's red carpet premiere.
The film depicts the survival tales of Palawan's natives and tackles about "busong," an indigenous Palawan concept of fate or instant karma. It won the Best Director award in last year's Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival Director's Showcase category.
Solito said "Busong" is the first film created under the director's Palawan trilogy — a recreation of the tales from Palawan tales he grew up with as told by his mother who hails from the island.
