'The Mistress' earns P106-M on first week


The reunion movie of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, "The Mistress" earned a whopping P106 million gross sales on its first five-day run, according to third party tabulator Box Office Mojo.

The Star Cinema film grossed P106,273,381 from September 12-16, beating "Resident Evil: Retribution," also on its first week run, which came in second place with P64,030,053.

This gross makes the mistress the third highest-grossing movie so far this year, just behind "Unofficially Yours" (P157.25 million) and "Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme" (P133.34 million).
