Award-winning drama anthology "Magpakailanman" returns on Philippine television to kindle the hearts and teach its viewers lessons in life once more.
The show, hosted by "24 Oras" anchor Mel Tiangco, features the life experiences of famous personalities and ordinary people who loved and lost on their way to success. It aired from 2002 to 2007 and received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Best Drama Series of the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) and the Anak TV Seal.
GMA Network's AVP for Drama Redgie Acuña-Magno said every year since the show aired its last episode, requests for its redux were received.
And now for the show's reiteration, they realized no one else can headline the show but Mel.
"Magpakailanman" revival will, aside from merely telling and narrating the story, add new elements and more in-depth investigation and dramatization of real-life inspired stories.
Mel will take a more participative role in making each story not only inspiring and uplifting, but also informative and interesting. She said it will feature the "real story behind the story."
As for their first episode, they're planning to feature the life story of Katrina Halili, but it has not been finalized yet.
"Magpakailanman" premieres this November on GMA-7.
