2 FEU cagers arrested for marijuana charge

Two players of the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws basketball team were nabbed after being caught allegedly smoking marijuana near the school's campus in Manila.

The cagers were identitied as Anthony Hargrove Jr., 22, a transferee from Pennsylvania in the United States, and Adam Mohammed, also 22, a Canadian.

Police said the two were caught smoking along the corner of Nicanor Reyes Street and Recto Avenue. They found marijuana leaves from the players' pockets after frisking them.

They were detained at the Manila Police District (MPD) Sampaloc Station and are facing violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The penalty for possession could range from 12 years and one day to 20 years in jail, and well as a fine ranging from P300,000 to P400,000.
