Filipino-American "American Idol" hopeful Adriana Latonio has entered the Top 20 of the show's Las Vegas round on Wednesday (Thursday morning in Manila).
For her performance, Adriana sang Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way" which brought the judges and the audience to their feet.
Adriana, who is the first Idol contestant from Alaska, received praises for her performance.
"Now the night has started!" said judge Keith Urban, who added she had all the soul the song required.
"Little tiny thing but she commands the stage from the second she walks out," judge Nicki Minaj said, after asking Adriana how tall she is. The rapper-singer said the five-footer is poised and ready. "Congratulations, my little ladybug."
Veteran judge Randy Jackson expressed the same sentiment about Adriana's performance. "Yo! This girl's a pro!" he claimed.
Judge Mariah Carey meanwhile wanted to know how she felt. "It went better than I thought it would," admitted the 17-year-old Fil-Am. "Really nice," Mariah told her, as she gave her an "A+."
Joining Adriana are other Idol hopefuls Teena Torres, Kree Harrison, Angela Miller and Amber Holcomb, who will all advance to the "Sing For Your Votes" round of the competition.
