Tropical depression 'Crising' enters PH

The low pressure area (LPA) in Mindanao has developed into a tropical depression and was named "Crising," state weather bureau PAGASA said on Monday.

As of 4 p.m. today, the center of "Crising" was estimated 750 km east of General Santos City with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 kph.

Storm signal No. 1 is raised in the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley.

Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas are advised of possible flashfloods and landslides. The tropical depression's estimated rainfall is ranging from 5-15 mm per hour (moderate to heavy) within its 300 km diameter.
