Richard Griffiths, who played Harry Potter's uncle Vernon Dursley in the "Harry Potter" film series, died from complications following heart surgery March 28.
The 65-year-old Griffiths appeared in many movies and TV shows, including the 1987 comedy "Witnail and I" as the flamboyant Uncle Monty.
Griffiths was regarded as one of Britain's leading theater actors, with roles including the charismatic teacher Hector at "The History Boys," where he won a Tony Award.
In 2007, he appeared in the London production of "Equus" alongside then 17-year-old Daniel Radcliffe, lead star of the Harry Potter film series.
"Richard was by my side during two of the most important moments of my career," Daniel said.
Griffiths is survived by his wife, Heather Gibson.
