The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has banned Renaldo Balkman from playing in the league, the biggest fine meted in the its 38-year existence.
The Petron Blaze Boosters import and NBA veteran will also be asked to fine P250,000.
The announcement came after Balkman's meeting with PBA Commissioner Chito Salud on Monday, March 11.
Balkman went berserk last March 8 when Petron suffered 73-83 loss to Alaska Aces at the Araneta Coliseum. He shoved away coach Biboy Ravanes, teammate Ronald Tubid, and held Arwind Santos by the neck.
Balkman and Santos have made amends, as the latter asked the public to give the import a second chance.
But still, Salud carried out through an iron hand his decision to ban Balkman, amid full support given by the Petron team for his supposed chance to be heard.
