It took just one take to shoot the catfight scene of Lovi Poe and Jennylyn Mercado, who get to work together in a film for the first time in "The Bride and the Lover."
The Joel Lamangan-directed and Regal Films-produced film, which took a year to finish, is a dramatic, funny movie about two women whose friendship was broken because of a guy, played in the film by Paulo Avelino.
"Masaya ang pelikula, pero may drama rin, and I'm happy na very cooperative ang buong cast lalo na sa sensitive sexy love scenes. Suwerte si Paulo rito as he gets to romance both Lovi and Jen," Direk Joel said.
"Viewers should watch out for the catfight scene na nagkapisikalan talaga nang husto sina Lovi at Jen habang nag-aaway over Paulo."
Direk Joel added it took them four hours to shoot the fight but they were all very happy over its outcome. "Makikita naman on screen na hindi nila pine-fake ang awayan nila."
"The Bride and the Lover" also stars Hayden Kho, Joem Bascon, Carmi Martin, Ariel Ureta, Boboy Garovillo, Timmy Cruz, Alex Castro, Ahron Villena, Carlo Gonzales, Cai Cortez and Snooky Serna, and introducing Carla Dunareanu, girlfriend of Christian Bautista.
It will be shown in theaters on May 1, 2013.
