One of GMA Network's biggest stars, Marian Rivera, is rumored to be transferring to rival network ABS-CBN, a source close to the actress said, as published in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
"Since other networks also know [about the contract], it's natural for them to send feelers. However, this doesn't mean Marian is definitely leaving GMA 7. She's still exploring her options," the source told Friday.
Marian's possible switch to other rival network TV5 was also being cited by the source, saying Marian's manager, Popoy Caritativo is "friends" with TV5 executives.
The 28-year-old actress' rumored transfer to ABS-CBN could have stemmed from the fact that she is doing a movie with Ai-Ai delas Alas, a popular Kapamilya actress, the source added. Marian and Ai-Ai star in comedy-action flick "Kung Fu Divas," slated for an October release.
"A lot can still happen between now and August," the source said. "Although GMA 7 fulfilled its end in the contract with Marian, people around her feel the network could have done better."
Marian was last seen in GMA-7's "Temptation of Wife." Her movie with Richard Gutierrez, "My Lady Boss," originally scheduled on Valentine's Day, has been moved to a later release and no announcement has been made yet for its new playdate.
