Cuban fighter and two-time Olympian Guillermo Rigondeaux defeated "The Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila) for the superbantamweight bout at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
The smaller Rigondeaux won in all of the judges' scorecards: 114-113, 115-112, and 116-111.
Donaire's loss follows the spree of tough losses for Filipino fighters Manny Pacquiao (who suffered back-to-back defeats to Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez) and Brian Viloria (who lost title to Juan Francisco Estrada last week).
Donairelost his WBA world junior featherweight title and saw his 12-year, 30-fight winning streak snapped.
