A road mishap in Quezon City took the life of a Sienna College student and injured seven others Tuesday morning.
Marie Cherry Inzon of Tandang Sora, Quezon City died after she was pinned under a 10-wheeler cement mixer which fell on a passenger jeepney in Araneta Avenue.
Two passengers of the jeep were rushed to the National Orthopedic Hospital while five others were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center.
The truck driver, identified as Reynald Guarte, was taken into custody following the accident.
Witnesses said the mixer truck (ZPL-947) of Concrete Mix Specialist Inc. was speeding when it hit the jeepney (TVV-855) which was unloading passengers near an excavation site on the southbound lane of Araneta Avenue.
Reports said the accident caused heavy traffic in the area as cement spilled out on the road.
