Chris Kelly, also known as "Mac Daddy" of the '90s rap duo Kris Kross, died at a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia Wednesday evening at an age of 34.
Police said Kelly's death appears to have been a "drug overdose," Mail UK reports. He was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. at the Atlanta Medical Center.
Kelly, along with Chris Smith, a.k.a. "Daddy Mac," performed in the early and mid-90s. Their hit song "Jump" off their 1992 album helped propel them to stardom and sales of four million copies in the U.S., topping the Billboard chart for eight weeks.
The duo was also noted for their fashion style, which consisted of wearing their clothing backwards. They sang the "Rugrats Rap" for Nickelodeon which was released as extras on some Nickelodeon VHS Tapes starting in 1994.
