Teased about being gay, man stabs cousin to death

A man was dead on arrival in a hospital after his cousin stabbed him multiple times in Quezon City last Wednesday, when the victim reportedly teased the suspect about being gay.

The victim was identified as Avegel Fabito, 31, and was dead on arrival at the Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH) for obtaining multiple stab wounds in his chest.

Barangay tanod officers immediately arrested the suspect named Reyster Azores, 21, and is now detained at the QCPD-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU).

According to case investigator PO2 Rhic Roldan Pittong, the incident occurred at around 7 a.m. inside their house.

The victim's brother-in-law said the two were having a drinking session before the stabbing. As the two were drinking, Fabito allegedly teased Azores about being gay, which enraged the latter.

After a few minutes, the victim was seen bloodied as the suspect repeatedly punched him out on the street.

Their neighbors were able to grab the fan knife used by the suspect as he fled, but was captured by the responding barangay tanod.
