A 13-year-old boy was shot dead just outside their home in Pasay City on Sunday afternoon.
A report from GMA News said the victim, Jayross Brondial, was sitting outside his home at around 2 p.m. when a motorcycle-riding gunman in full-face helmet showed up and opened fire.
Initial police report revealed Jayross was shot repeatedly.
Jayross was rushed to the hospital but eventually succumbed to the gunshot wounds.
The boy's neighbors believe he was mistaken for a drug personality who lived on their street and was wearing a similar pair of dark blue shorts and hat.
A cousin of the drug personality confirmed that their relative used and pushed illegal drugs and said they went into hiding after the fatal shooting.
Other witnesses said the suspect jammed his gun while shooting Jayross multiple times.
Police recovered six .45 caliber slugs and three casings from the crime scene. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
