Nurse sexually assaulted child patients

A male nurse has been charged with sexually assaulting two patients at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary, Canada.

Drew Robert Legary, 42, is charged with two counts of sexual interference of a child under 16 years and two counts of sexual assault.

Police said a 13-year-old boy made a complaint in September 2011. A second victim, a boy aged 11, was believed to be sexually assaulted in August 2010.

Both children were patients in the care of Legary, who was a nurse of the hospital. Both incidents were alleged to have happened while the children were under the nurse's care.

The father of the 13-year-old said the thing that upsets him the most is that there was a second victim.

"What I didn’t know was that it happened to another kid, this is my biggest hurt right now," he said, adding that his son has been scarred for life.

"I felt very much betrayed, because I trusted the hospital, I trusted the male nurse, who had built a rapport for two days with my son and I," said the father.

Det. Stephen Johnston of the Calgary police’s child abuse unit said he was satisfied during the investigation that there were no other victims at risk. He said there were no third-party witnesses to either assault.

"[Both victims] are certainly shaken by what has happened and certainly experienced something that no child should ever endure," he said.

Legary has been on leave from the hospital since the allegations surfaced, according to Alberta Health Services.

The Office of Admission and Aid announced thru the university's official Facebook account that the ACET for SY 2012-2013 will be administered again on Sunday, January 15, from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm at the High School campus. Around 1,300 examinees are expected to troop to the testing center.

Ramgen Revilla and Janelle Manahan latest video

Janelle Manahan openly talked in an interview early morning today in ABS-CBN's Umagang Kay Ganda about the sex video circulating in various sites.

The video shows Janelle and boyfriend Ramgen Revilla doing it inside a shower room. Ramgen was brutally murdered last October 28, 2011. Janelle obtained shots and stab wounds.


Janelle said the video was taken back in 2007, but was deleted during the heist exposure of Hayden Kho's videos in 2009.


"Unfortunate lang na may nakakuha, nakakita ng file at naglabas. Binura po namin yan. After noong tintry niya (ni Ramgen) na i-save ang file, alam naman namin na matagal ang magiging relasyon 'yon. Parang ipa-file lang kasi wala naman kaming masamang ginagawa. Ayaw ko namang maging hipokrito na hindi namin ginagawa yon, pero noong may lumabas na scandal ng artista noong 2009 ay nag-decide kaming i-delete yon sa laptops at may napaglipatan din kasing blank CDs so sinira namin yon (ni Ramgen) together. So pagkakaalam ko wala na talaga (yung file)," Manahan said.


Janelle added that the viral sex video was not only the one they used to keep in Ramgen's laptop.


"Siguro po less than 10 yung videos. Nandoon po sa laptop," she said.

Asked if they tried their best to check if the files were indeed deleted, Manahan replied: "Opo. Ito kasing latter part siya na lang ang nakakapag-open ng files sa laptop niya. Kasi ang laptop niya ay ginagamit ko. So mayroon siyang guest account saka yung Ram Revilla account yung sa kanya lang, so wala akong access doon. So hindi ko alam kung mayroon pa siyang naitago para sa sarili niya."


Genelyn Magsaysay, Ramgen's mother, said that her family has the laptop, but denied of the accusations that her children, Ramgen's siblings RJ Bautista and Ramona Bautista were responsible for uploading the video online.


Janelle also appealed to the public to stop feasting on the video.


"Sana huwag na nilang panoorin. Tigilan na nila ang pagshi-share kasi wala naman silang makukuha kung panonoorin nila yon. Respeto na lang sa akin na babae at saka kay Ramgen kasi wala na siya, patay na siya," she said.

Janelle also revealed that Ramgen used to be violent to her because of jealousy. In her previous statement, Janelle said Ramgen is a strict disciplinarian who had incidents of physical and verbal clashes with his siblings, who are now suspects in the killing.

Manahan's lawyers said these could be possible motives for the murder.

David Archuleta receives warm welcome on fourth visit

David Archuleta was welcomed by fans on his arrival today at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. It is his fourth visit in the Philippines since his successful concert with David Cook back in 2009.

Upon airport exit, David was greeted by TV5's stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero.

David is set to do a primetime soap with the two young ladies, titled "Nandito Ako", where he is also set to record its theme song with the same title, which was popularized by Ogie Alcasid.

David has expressed his excitement over his project, which is his first major acting job. He said Filipino fans are supportive, very welcoming, and very warm.

Taytay Junction Massacre (GRAPHIC WARNING)

Five people were killed while 13 were hurt in an accident in Tikling Junction in Taytay, Rizal on Thursday, January 12, around 11:30 AM.


A dump truck hit the concrete barrier and crashed into a police substation as it killed people and smashed vehicles along its way.

The driver of the dump truck, Enrico Enriquez, was dead on the spot while his wife Maricel was declared dead on arrival.

According to the witnesses, the truck lost its break while on the way down Cabrera Road in Hilltop, Taytay, Rizal. It hit 17-year old Noel Almorando who was crossing the street that time. The truck crashed the concrete barrier and crossed the other side of the street continuously, killing more people on its path.

Young Japanese turn their backs on relationships

In a country of more than a hundred million people, Japan is suffering a huge demographics problem. The birth rate is one of the lowest in the world, leaving more old people. The reason? Japanese people just have no time for relationships, no time for sex, and no time for romance. At least it applies to most of them.


The government have introduced programs for parents and steps have been made to improve access to child care. However, a survey has revealed that over a third of young men and more young woman have no interest in sex. Ironically, anime programs in Japan's television feature mostly love and romance.


Falling in love with each other seems increasingly difficult for Japan's young.

NAIA to cut terminal fee for international flights

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA)  will bring down the terminal fee for international flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from the present P750 to P550, starting on February 1.


A report on BusinessWorld quoted MIAA General Manager Jose Angel Honrado as saying the five-year security development program will end by February.

An added P200 charge was imposed back in 2007 to improve security measures at the airport, which it supervises.


Meanwhile, state-run Philippines News Agency reported the MIAA added the P200 security development charge to the terminal fee - also known as the airport users charge (AUC) - on Feb. 1, 2007.


It said those exempted paying the AUC are OFWs, foreign diplomats, athletes and sports officials, transit passengers, refugees, pilgrims, airline cabin crews and deportees.
