Amidst all the crisis and hardships most of us experience, we still manage to smile, for we believe in the act of happiness. We are a nation of smiles, found in every corner and every streets. No matter how difficult times will be, we believe that being happy is the remedy to wash all the problems away.
(2) Filipinos respect and care
We are soft-hearted when we see an elderly having a hard time carrying his/her bag to ride a jeepney. We care for our sick and helpless relatives. We offer help to those in need. We use polite such as "po" and "opo".
(3) We have close family ties
We live in a home usually with our extended family - lolo, lola, auntie, uncle, nieces, nephews - we love to be bonded well and we believe in the values of being together through thick and thin.
(4) We have a vast of natural resources
The Philippines is rich in natural resources, being the second largest archipelago in the world. We have a variety of plants and animals - one of the richest biodiversity among all. These resources are what we rely on to have a healthy and productive living.
(5) Filipinos are resilient
Even during the most difficult times, we still manage to get up and work hard. We do not give up. We can adapt to different conditions and situations because we know how and always choose to be happy.
(6) Filipinos have world-class talents
In sports, entertainment, beauty pageant, professional work, etc., Filipinos have already proven their spots. We still stand out even in foreign lands. Manny Pacquiao, Charice, Lea Salonga, Miss Universe finalist - they made us proud for many times that we have a Filipino blood inside us.
(7) Filipinos are freedom fighters
Remember the EDSA Revolution? How about our heroes who fought for the Spanish ruling? We are freedom-loving citizens. And a lot have already proven that and brought honor to our country.
(8) We are so much hospitable
We welcome guests to our homes, and we feel good setting up a celebration to a famous personality visiting our country. It may already be a cliche but it's true that we accommodate our guests, especially foreigners, with so much hospitality.
(9) The Philippines is a nation with plenty of beautiful people
No matter where you look at, you will see a lot of beautiful and handsome Pinoys. No further explanations needed.
(10) We have strong Catholic ties
Religion unites us with beliefs. This is what makes our families one. We go to church on Sunday and pray to God. We celebrate Christmas because we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
